
TITLE: CLINICAL PHARMACIST (0468) CD

DESCRIPTION: This is the experienced level of work in the field of clinical pharmacy at a State facility. Employees in this classification are responsible for providing clinical pharmaceutical services for a patient population involving the establishment and maintenance of policies concerning drug use patterns related to drug use or adverse drug reactions; establishing and maintaining patient drug profile systems; reviewing physician’s orders before drugs are administered to patients; and evaluating clinical data concerning the admission of drugs to the formulary. Employees in this classification receive general supervision from a higher level medical or administrative supervisor. Clinical Pharmacists may supervise subordinate personnel involved in clinical pharmacy procedures and operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD).
EXPERIENCE:
One year of clinical experience as a Registered Pharmacist.
LICENSE:
Must possess a valid license under the Maryland State Law; A current copy of license must accompany the application form MS-100.
NOTES:
1. Pertinent volunteer and/or part-time experience is acceptable. Please document the number of hours spent per week in the type of experience on the application form MS-100.
2. Applicants may substitute four additional years of clinical experience as a Registered Pharmacist for the required doctorate.
3. Experience gained during a formal residency program may be applied to the required experience.
4. Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance to Code Of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09 "Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs".
