The Office directs proactive and responsive internal and external communications that include graphics support and media relations.  Accurate, timely and relevant information is distributed to employees, the media and the public through newsletters, press releases, media interviews, promotional materials, speeches and special events.  The office provides 24-hour 'on-call' staffing to meet the needs of print and broadcast journalists.

The Office communicates to the citizens of Maryland important public health information to help them live longer and healthier and to protect them from the threat of communicable diseases and life threatening illnesses.
