DHMH Secretary Colmers, MDE
Secretary Wilson, and Delegate
James Hubbard will be joined by
students and staff from the
Green School, children’s health
advocates, experts, and other
invited guests to highlight the
release of the Maryland’s
Children and the Environment
report.
The agenda will include
presentations that address
significant aspects of the
report with ideas for
implementing the
recommendations. An opportunity
to ask questions will be
provided.
This report is Maryland’s first
effort to synthesize data to
provide a coherent picture of
Maryland’s children and the
environment. The emphasis of the
report is to provide the public,
policy makers, researchers, and
public health officials with
measures that can be used to
gauge Maryland’s progress to
improve the environment and
reduce the rates of
environmentally-related health
conditions in children. The
report was funded by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency.
