DHMH Secretary Colmers, MDE Secretary Wilson, and Delegate James Hubbard will be joined by students and staff from the Green School, children’s health advocates, experts, and other invited guests to highlight the release of the Maryland’s Children and the Environment report.

The agenda will include presentations that address significant aspects of the report with ideas for implementing the recommendations.  An opportunity to ask questions will be provided.

This report is Maryland’s first effort to synthesize data to provide a coherent picture of Maryland’s children and the environment. The emphasis of the report is to provide the public, policy makers, researchers, and public health officials with measures that can be used to gauge Maryland’s progress to improve the environment and reduce the rates of environmentally-related health conditions in children.  The report was funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
