Health Disparities Summit Is Scheduled for October 1

 Today is

BALTIMORE, MD (September 29, 2008) – Maryland’s Lieutenant Governor, along with the Speaker of the House and two cabinet members are expected to speak at a Maryland summit to focus on how health disparities impact the cost and quality of health care.  The event will be held on Wednesday, October 1 in the President’s Conference Center of the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. 

Sponsors of Health Disparities: Impact on Business and Economics include the Maryland General Assembly; the Health and Government Operations Committee Minority Health Disparities Subcommittee; and Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities.
