ATTENTION APPLICANTS FOR WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTOR RENEWAL PERMITS

THE ONLINE SYSTEM IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE 2008 WHOLESALE DISTRIBUTOR RENEWAL

All Wholesale Prescription Drug or Device Distributors that apply to operate in Maryland in 2009 will be required to demonstrate through paper application that they can meet the provisions of the new Distribution Permitting and Prescription Drug Integrity Act and revised COMAR 10.34.22 Licensing of Wholesale Prescription Drug or Device Distributors regulations. Applications will be mailed to all Permit Holders no later than November 7, 2008. Information regarding the criminal background check process will be provided in the near future. _All applications should be submitted no later than December 16, 2008 with or without the criminal background check form(s), fee and required fingerprints.  Click Wholesale Distributor  Application Packet

Manufacturers engaged in wholesale distribution of their own prescription drugs or devices approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, are not exempt and must hold a permit issued by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy if they distribute directly into Maryland. OTHER INFORMATION:

The Board changes the status of all establishment permits not received in the Board's Office by the close of  business December 31st.  A computer program automatically runs after midnight, January 1st, changing the status from "Active" to "Non Renewed".   Expired permits may be subject to a reinstate process.
