About Program Integrity

The Division of Program Integrity is part of a departmental initiative to produce cost savings.  The division identifies and eliminates fraud, waste, and abuse by conducting audits/investigations of providers that have received payments from Maryland Medicaid and all state-only funded programs.  Investigations may also be initiated as a result of complaints.  

How Cases are Received?           

The division receives complaints generally through the OIG’s hotline, as well as, written complaints through email or fax.  To report possible fraud, waste, and abuse by a provider, Click Here. 

How We Investigate?              

Program Integrity may conduct in-house and/or on-site reviews/investigations to obtain additional facts and/or evidence to substantiate suspicions or allegations.
