DHMH Internal Audits

Internal Audits Division has audit oversight for over 27 programs and administrations within DHMH and performs such functions as:   

• External audit coordination such as:

  • Coordination of audit entrance and exit conferences;

  • Coordination of DHMH responses to external audit reports.

• Follow-up and assurance that DHMH administrations have implemented corrective actions to resolve previously cited audit findings; and

• Proactive reviews of DHMH operations to identify deficiencies and prevent future audit findings.

The Division also receives from each audited administration monthly and quarterly status reports on the status of each legislative audit recommendation.  This report is due on the seventh day following each calendar quarter (i.e. the report for the first quarter covering January, February, and March, is due on April 7.)  To view a “sample quarterly status report” and instructions for completion, click here.  (Monthly status reports are required when a unit has received an unsatisfactory audit rating or has received five or more repeat audit findings).
