Here are some links to various free
self-help websites. These are full of information and graphics that show
employees, supervisors and managers how to adjust their computer workstations.
Many employees are affected by the mismatch of less-than-ideal posture and high
repetition associated with PC use. Bad workstation ergonomics cause eyestrain,
low back, neck and wrist discomfort. The workers’ compensation insurance
industry views these claims as occupational illnesses, and are not generally
compensable. Some costly claims do, however, meet criteria. Individual claims
can be very expensive and interrupt production. Organizations are encouraged to
reassess employee PC workstations annually to minimize losses and maximize
productivity.
