Back injuries constitute about
one third of all state workers compensation injuries. Approximately half of the
total workers’ compensation costs are for back injuries. Fraud cases are
frequently over-represented by alleged back problems. Some insurance
professionals state that as much as 15% of all back claims have some form of
fraud.
