Medical Day Care is a structured group program that provides health,
social, and related support services to functionally disabled
adults, age 16 and older. The Program provides individuals the
opportunity to receive medical care during the day in a
community-based setting offering individuals an alternative to
nursing facility care.

How To Apply For Services? |
Individuals can access medical day care services through one of the
following home and community-based waivers: Medical Day Care Services
Waiver, Older Adults Waiver, Living At Home Waiver, Traumatic Brain
Injury Waiver, Model Waiver, Community Pathways Waiver and New
Directions Waiver. Individuals may be enrolled in only one home and
community- based waiver at a time.
If you
are interested in receiving medical day care services through a home
and community-based waiver, please contact the local health department
AERS (Adult Evaluation and Review Services) Program in the area in
which you reside. If you are currently enrolled in the Older Adults
Waiver, Living Home At Waiver, Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver, or Model
Waiver, contact your waiver case manager. If you are currently
enrolled in the Community Pathways or New Directions Waiver, contact
your service coordinator.
Medical Day Care providers must be licensed. Licensing standards are
found in COMAR 10.12.04, Day Care for Elderly and Adults with a Medical
Disability. Copies of the COMAR regulations may be obtained through the
Maryland Division of State Documents at
www.dsd.state.md.us.
