Information for Victim's of the Recent Tornado
The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is very concerned about the impact of the recent tornado on the citizens of southern Maryland.  Your health and medical needs are important to us.  The Charles County Health Department, the Calvert County Health Department, and the Dorchester Health Department are the primary health agency in each county.  Since the majority of the damage occurred in Charles County, please find listed below the Charles County agencies that are available to assist you with health concerns as well as other disaster related needs.  In addition, if you or someone you know lives in Calvert or Dorchester counties and would like to talk to someone about your health or medical needs, please call the telephone number listed below. 
 
CHARLES COUNTY 
 
The Charles County government has opened “The People’s Place” which is a one-stop center located on the county government
grounds in LaPlata, MD for citizens to apply for assistance with ALL issues relating to the recent tornado.  Staff from the various
county and local agencies are available to discuss your concerns and offer to connect you with the agency best suited to meet your
needs.
